Privacy
ip5.io doesn't store your IP address or anything else about you.
The site shows you what every website can see. To do that, it has to look at the same things, once, while it builds your page. Here is exactly what happens.
What ip5.io uses to build your page
- Your IP address, as every website receives it.
- Cloudflare's estimate of your location, provider (ASN), time zone and connection, which Cloudflare attaches to every request.
- Headers your browser sends anyway: browser and system, preferred languages, and privacy signals like Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
- Your hostname. To find it, ip5.io asks Cloudflare's DNS service (1.1.1.1) for the reverse DNS record of your IP.
This information is used to build the response and then discarded. ip5.io has no database and keeps no request logs.
If you use the website check on /ipv4-vs-ipv6, the website name you type is looked up with Cloudflare DNS to see whether it supports IPv6. The website itself isn't contacted, and the name isn't kept.
What stays in your browser
- Fingerprint: worked out by your browser on /fingerprint and on the main page. The ID and the details behind it are never sent anywhere.
- Location comparison: on /location, only after you click the button and allow it. Your exact location is compared in your browser and never sent to ip5.io.
- WebRTC check: your browser contacts Cloudflare's STUN server (
stun.cloudflare.com) to see which address it reveals. That server sees your IP, like any server you connect to. The result stays on the page. - Screen size and time zone check: read and compared by your browser.
- Your older (IPv4) address: if you arrive over IPv6, the page asks ipfive.io, ip5.io's own IPv4-only address, for your IPv4 details. That request is handled exactly like this one and isn't stored either.
What Cloudflare sees
ip5.io doesn't store your IP. Requests pass through Cloudflare, which may keep its own records under its privacy policy.

- No cookies, no local storage, no accounts.
